At South Australian Roand Transport Association (SARTA) we respect your right to privacy. From 21 December 2002, we are bound by new sections of the commonwealth Privacy Act 1988, which set out a number of principles concerning protection of your personal information.

Your Personal information
We will only collect information relevant to our business relationship with you. The information we collect will include name and address details, telephone contact details, email address and financial details relevant to your business dealings with SARTA.

We will not seek details relating to your health, ethnic origin, political opinions or any other sensitive information.

If you choose not to provide certain personal information we may not be able to process your membership, fulfil your request or provide you with an appropriate level of service.

How we collect your personal information
We will collect this information directly from you by phone, fax, email or in documents provided by you such as a membership application/renewal form.

We will use the information you provide for the purpose of fulfilling our services to you.

The organisations to which we disclose information include mailing houses for delivery of information and when needed, our professional advisers including our accountant’s auditors and lawyers. We are obliged to ensure that these organisations agree to comply with the conditions of the Privacy Act when dealing with your personal information.

SARTA takes all reasonable precautions to ensure that the personal information we collect, use and disclose is accurate. We ask for your co-operation to let us know if there are any errors in your personal information and that you keep us up to date with any changes to your personal information such as your name or address.

You have a right to access your personal information, subject to some exceptions dictated by law. If you would like to access your personal information please let us know. You may be required to put your request in writing for security reasons. There is no fee for requesting and receiving access to your information.
