been involved in the transport industry for over 2 decades
owning and co-directing with my husband, Bob, our own Transport
Company, Whiteline Transport, I have seen much evolution and
change take place.
Road Transport is more important to our everyday lives than
ever and its increasing in importance with companies having
to learn to understand the need to be professional and progressive
in the way in which they manage their businesses both to be
competitive, compliant and responsible.
Still, I believe, there is a need to improve our profile
within the corporate and community sectors by making them
aware that ‘transport’ is much more than stubbies
and thongs. It is a very professional industry with enthusiastic
and motivated people working within it,not just in their own
businesses but on committees and associations, like SARTA,
to assist all operators for better outcomes.
SARTA is there for you and it provides a strong voice for
our industry. SARTA deserves all operators’ support.
In addition, for members, I felt our own ‘national
anthem’ would assist in promoting comradeship within
SARTA.
So this is where I come into it, singing is something I’ve
done since I was a young girl, but due to my corporate commitments
I was forced to limit the extent to which I took it, so was
pleased to do this project which came naturally to me given
my direct experience in transport. I have also just recently
released a c.d. with some of my favourite cover songs called
‘Something Me’.
I hope all members will sing along proudly.
